I work for food

“I work for food.”

says the wasted poster
in the foul hands of a lean soul
and a leaner belly.

The job seeker swims in the waves of steel
                         but
the potential employers provide petty change only
there are not jobs to spare.

Finally a truck driver asks the job seeker for help
unloading raw chickens for markets to sell.

The theoretical worker says:
“I have a back problem
I can’t carry poultry today
maybe tomorrow.”

With the sunset, the job hunter quits for the day
          with a bag of change
he goes away while the drivers go home
           to dine chicken
in thousands of different ways.

Hi Carlos.
Good story about a theoretical worker; there are so many like him...
The truckers deserve to dine chicken in any way.
Maybe tomorrow, yes, that's what job seekers say every day.
